Architectural photography can be a great way of exploring and documenting a city, whether it's your home or on holiday. Its about capturing not only the design and accurate representation of a building, but to have the shots be aesthetically pleasing to the viewer's eye. An architectural photographer makes pictures, not takes pictures.

In this session, we will be covering how to better understand Architecture photography and we'll be looking at ways to take some impressive shots and the camera settings to use.

I shot this on tripod, 3 shot bracket, with my D600 and a Tokina 11-20mm @17mm. I used Photo Pills to nail down exactly where the sun would set and setup hoping for some magic. Nature can be a cruel mistress to landscape photographers but that night she was kind and blessed me with several great shots. I did, however, have to freeze to get them. Totally worth it though

I setup under the bridge Saturday about an hour before sunset hoping I would get some good colors as the sun dipped down. It was about 30 degrees out and rather cold down by the water but I was determined to get a good shot if nature cooperated. As the last bits of light faded away it happened the sky started to transition from reds to the deeper purples of evening. The image is a 3 shot bracket on tripod merged into a HDR. Shot with:Nikon D600, Tokina 11-20 @17mm. Post process was don

Wasn't terribly hopeful about finding anything good that morning, went out a bit later than I should've. But, I stumbled upon this small group of deer looking for food each other. Tried to get just a bit closer but I got greedy and scared them off after just a few shots unfortunately.Camera - Canon R6 Mark IILens - Canon 800mm f5.6

The classic "Diamond Ring" picture from the recent eclipse on April 8, 2024, taken from our cabin in the woods on the banks of the Little Missouri River! We (8 family members) have been eagerly waiting for this event since August of 2017, when we traveled to Athens, Tennessee for the last one!

This was my first attempt at astrophotography in Brisbane and was a trial shot more than anything. I went looking for an eastern facing foreground knowing that the Milky Way core would be rising at around 10pm from the east, leaving me few options where light pollution wouldn't be an issue. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too harsh at vic point. I loved the foreground and the lightning in the distance on the horizon, and the satellite creaping in was another unexpected surprise with th

Dearing the eclipse of 2017 my family and I sat in our backyard here in WA to watch the 93 totality with our eclipse glasses. With my homemade solar filter attached to my camera, I took a series of photos of the sun during the eclipse. After processing my sun photos, I was disappointed to see that the moon only showed up as a black hole and not its proper form. I am an avid shooter of Astro photography and have several photos of the moon taken from my backyard and multiple other locations. I
