Architectural photography can be a great way of exploring and documenting a city, whether it's your home or on holiday. Its about capturing not only the design and accurate representation of a building, but to have the shots be aesthetically pleasing to the viewer's eye. An architectural photographer makes pictures, not takes pictures.

In this session, we will be covering a specific part of architecture photography: building interiors.

Johnnie did a great job guiding us through the park, finding good subject matter, and brought reflectors and lighting so we could try different shots of the same subject and learn about the effects. Great learning event, thank you!

This shot was taken on my first day into this trip. My wife and I decided to spend Labor Day weekend in the mountains which was wonderful but also very busy which isn't the best for wildlife photography. However, I did come away with some good shots from my outing (mostly landscape) and this is by far one of my favorite. I love how the light is striking the deer's face while he is mostly shrouded in shadow. I took this with a Nikon 200-500mm @ 500, 1/160s, ISO 100 and f6.3. I shot this across th

This is the first piece in a series of Still Lifes I am doing Titled "Beauty Immortal". I am using various dried flowers in an assortment of vases. Right now I'm focusing on a "moody" vibe but I have plans to run a series of more bright and colorful shots as well. Still lifes are great, you can shoot them at home in a controlled environment, without having to worry about so many other factors that as photographers we have to work around.

just a quick photo of my granddaughter in my living room. She was still willing to let me take photos of her back then. It wasn't a planned shot, I just pick up the camera and start shooting whenever she visited. Now she is grown, so she thinks, and she doesn't like me taking photos of her, sigh!!

This is a small tree that is emerging from cut trees in my yard. This tree caught my attention around two hours before sunset and had a variety of insects consuming its nectar. I used my Panasonic FZ300 to capture stills and 8 second bursts for about an half hour. I looked at several compositions and decided to post a few pictures for the photo group to enjoy.

Was out looking for anything to photograph on one my few days off from work. So I went to the plot of land where I deer hunt. Any wild flower that may still be in bloom, insects, things like that. Tons of grasshoppers everywhere and I came across this fella. I didn't realize he possibly had a wounded left wing until I processed the photos. No wonder he sat thru many different angles, exposures, and me getting up in his face and didn't offer to fly off. LOL

I saw the sky start to get some color after looking too overcast. I grabbed my gear and went down to the road behind where I live. I had gotten a few shots of the headlights going the other way and it was too much of a contrast with the sky. I got set up, with the camera low to the ground and got a couple test shots. Then shot this at 5 seconds.
